4K TV
I had my old TV for about 13 years, but a year ago, dark shadows appeared on the screen, and I knew its time was up.
Finally one day, it turned off, and wouldn't come back on, and it was time to get a new one.
After some investigation about the various options, I managed to snag a good deal on an LG OLED65C5.
It feels enormous, but I had the same thought when going from a 24" to 40".
Hardware
The panel itself is amazing. 3840x2160 pixels, 144 Hz. Large, bright, very thin (about 4mm). The sound is good too - loud, lots of bass.Software
It arrived with firmware 33.21.67.The software (WebOS 10.2.0-3802) is not bad either - quite fast, simple, easy to use.
Updates
However, as I've heard of annoying features (adverts, Copilot) being added with firmware updates over time, I'm not going to connect it to the Internet.I would like to be able to install an alternative, open-source OS on it, but it seems as though that isn't possible, so I'm going to drive it purely via the PS5, a Chromecast and an HTPC.
