Improving the battery life of Android phones
I had an Android update recently, and it caused my battery to deplete faster.
What had happened is that it had reset a previous setting that I had configured, and once I re-set it, all is good again.
I configure my phone to only allow a few background processes. This is how to do it:
First, enable developer mode.
Settings, About Phone, and tap on Build Number 7 times.
Then, in Settings, go to Developer Options, and set the Background Process Limit to 3 or 4.
Voila. No processes running in the background when you don't want them to, draining your battery, doing who-knows-what.
I also disable WiFi, and GPS when I'm not using them, and have my brightness turned down quite a lot. This also helps with my battery life.
