Pronunciation of Linux

When Linux was newer (and I guess not as popular), I would often hear people mispronouncing it.

The common mispronunciation was Lie-nux (/ˈlaɪnʊks/), rather than Lih-nux (/ˈlɪnʊks/). I assume was due to the popularity of Linus Van Pelt

But recently, it struck me - I haven't heard it mispronounced for years now.
Maybe it's a sign that Linux has got mainstream enough.
